Visionary Stephen O'Brien has left his physical body and is travelling

into the World of Spirit on another enlightening excursion,

there to meet with his spirit guide and teacher, a man who,

thousands of years ago when he lived on Earth,

was a Native American whose tribal name was White Owl.

approach a place where new arrivals are awakening…

'In my Father's House there are many mansions;

if it were not so, I would have told you' -

There were six beds in this light and airy drawing-room, and in them were six sleeping forms.

'This is a Home of Rest,' said White Owl.

'Are they sleeping or are they in comas?'

'Unconscious. In deep sleep, they rest.'

I asked him who they were.

'The stubborn ones.'

'What do you mean?'

'Take a long look at their minds. Can you see their reasons for sleeping like this?'

'No,' I said.

'None of them need rest. Do you agree?'

'Yes,' I said, examining their minds again.

'…They do not wish to wake.'

For a moment I was nonplussed. 'You mean they choose to sleep?'

'Yes: they know they have 'died', but they wholeheartedly believe that they must rest until some distant resurrection day.'

'So it's their beliefs that close their eyes?'

'What are beliefs, but Thoughts? Those who think that a man's beliefs do not matter, have not yet learned that they colour his Thought - and Thought leads to Action. What we believe either binds or frees the human spirit. Beliefs are important, and should be founded upon Truths. These souls sleep because of their Thoughts. They have chosen.

'The Mind shapes Everything,' he said, 'whatever world we inhabit. What we think -- we are. Now let us proceed.'

And we left, knowing that these sleepers would only rise when they wanted to… and I couldn't help thinking just how easy it is for us to ruin the quality of our lives.
