The swift astral-travelling continued, pulling me nearer and nearer to Mother Earth until my flight was surprisingly stopped by some unseen power that had arrested it, and now it held me fast in its invisible grasp. All around me was the deepness of space, unending infinite blackness, pierced by bright starpoints of light. And again the compassionate angel-voice spoke within me: 'See there, beneath you!' And when I looked down I discerned the planet Earth - the Great Mother who houses and protects us. Silently her great blue-and-milky-white orb revolved on its hidden axis, in mystery and wonder, as the Teacher said: 'Many sleep peacefully there tonight because of what has so far been achieved. But our tasks are not yet over. There is still much more to do, and few to do it. We are engaged in constant conflict against the Powers of Darkness: selfishness, greed, hatred, anger, jealousy, vested interests, the possessive god of materialism, and the lust for power over the masses. 'The road is long, my son, but never spiritually lonely. We will not forsake you. We shall never desert those who serve. We will guide and bless, for ever, and ever...' said the voice. Then the greyness of the planet again pulled me towards it at an alarming rate, and once more the sensations of the Earth drew near as my spirit groaned within me because the visions were now slipping from my grasp - 'But I want to stay longer!' I cried. 'I don't want to leave you!' And as soft as a bird's wings rising in graceful flight, the gentle Angel Voice sounded its Eternal Promise deep within my heart, my mind, my soul: 'Lo, we are with you Always - Even unto the end of the World... |
