Mediums and their Motivation Examined

It is vitally important to fully understand your true motivation for undertaking mediumistic development, long before any psychic experimentation takes place.

One of the main reasons for this precaution is the unbreakable Universal Law of Like Attracts Like, which will ensure that you will draw to yourself from the worlds of spirit (as well as from this earthly plane of thought) similarly motivated minds. The quality of the mind, the character and the soul-evolution of the medium is his strength, shield and protection.

Aspirants who possess the negative and destructive characteristics of being deceitful, uncaring, aggressive, arrogant, insincere, unintelligent, ignorant, unkind, mean and self-centred, and in whose heart there is little or no love for humanity, the animal kingdoms or the Mother Planet upon which we all dwell, will undoubtedly attract to themselves discarnate personalities existing (or vibrating) at roughly the same stage of evolution as themselves.

Another harmful negative trait is that of being a compulsive liar: those who purposefully deceive others to achieve their own ends can expect similar treatment from the denizens of next world.

Idle sensation-seekers, insecure personalities, unbalanced mentalities, over-emotional or aggressive people, self-centred persons or anyone regarded as an unpleasant extremist who might be seeking a platform for self-expression or self-aggrandisement - these people are advised not to undertake mediumistic or psychic unfoldment, for obvious reasons.

should avoid developing the skills of mediumship or psychic work
because the spirit power-processes involved can excite their
nervous systems and thought patterns,

and also affect the delicate balance of their body's hormonal systems
and endocrine (ductless gland) structures.

because mediumship affects your entire physical, mental, emotional
and psychic being and it is not a toy to be played with
for idle amusement.

Develop the Power of Unconditional Love

By far the hardest and most powerful spirit-attracting quality to attain, and then rigorously maintain, is the quality of Unconditional Love.

This is not a possessive love or a self-rewarding stewardship, which gives only that it might later receive. Born of the spirit, it suffers and continues beyond all endurance. Through adversity and in the darkness of personal despair it still cares for other life-forms.

This kind of selfless love is best expressed by a truly compassionate mother when she tenderly cares for her child, simply because the child exists. There is never any emotional blackmail involved; there are no strings attached.

Are you capable of giving, or at least developing, such a love?

Search yourself deeply.

Know Yourself - truly and honestly - and become fully aware of all your glaring faults, as well as of your credits. Read well, widely and intelligently, questioning everything as you go.

Always build your up your store of knowledge; for it is from this, and the ability to correlate it, that wisdom may eventually be born.
